I just found a bus that runs from Granada to Alicante. It takes less time than the train because I don't have to go through Madrid. I don't have to deal with layovers between trains or planes. And it's not 180 euros like the plane. And it's not 90 euros like the train. It's 30 euros. This bus wins so much.
In other, incredibly related news, my parents are coming to Spain! (Uh oh, did I just slip up and give away the fact that I actually like hanging out with my parents? Well crap.) So while this means far too much time spent on the computer looking for ways to get to/from Granada and Sevilla to meet up with them, it also means that I get to go to Granada and Sevilla to meet up with them. And there's a bus! That's cheap! And relatively fast!
But wait, it gets better. Are you ready for it? CIEE purposefully doesn't schedule classes on Fridays so that we can travel as long as we don't have a direct enrollment class that day. Which I don't. And I've also managed to make a schedule that doesn't have class on Tuesdays, which is less useful but still pretty sweet. But the best part? My schedule that doesn't have class on Tuesdays or Fridays also doesn't have class on Thursdays. Or Wednesday evenings. Which means I can start traveling any time after 1pm on Wednesdays. Man oh man.
And to top it off, I now have a "think globally, act locally" sticker. In Spanish! Because clearly that's the most exciting tidbit out of all of this.
